Maxzyme-RE Refining Enzyme
PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
Maxzyme-RE helps in fiber modification and decrease the disintegration time and enhance better fibrillation without excessive hydration through partial hydrolysis and de-polymerization of cellulose surface. It develops fibers without excessive cutting and results in improved paper strength at a lower refining energy. It enhances the drainage rates of recycled fibers by selective hydrolysis of fine particles. It is based on Cationic copolymer emulsion, which does not contain PFAS.
Enzyme-assisted pulp refining is an environmentally friendly process that reduces energy consumption for papermaking which has a direct impact on paper manufacturing cost. Enzyme-assisted refining is defined as mechanical refining after pretreatment of pulp with enzymes such as cellulases and hemicellulases. It not only reduces the energy consumption but also improves the quality of finished paper. Enzymes improve the beatability of pulp at same refining degree and desired paper properties can be achieved at decreased refining time.
GENERAL PROPERTIES
Maxzyme-RE will function within a pH range of 5 to 8 making the product adaptable to most existing pulping and paper making processes. Maxzyme-RE is typically added at a dosage between 200 to 400 grams/ton (metric ton) of dry pulp. Dosage will depend on the process temperature, pH and retention times, as well as furnish composition. MAXZYME-RE is formulated to be dosed automatically via a dosage pump.
BENEFITS
- Reduce pulp refining energy requirement. Improved drainage as fibrils are less hydrophilic and easier to drain. Decreased steam load for paper drying
- Paper properties dependendt on fibril content are improved: tensile strength, burst strength, tensile energy absorption.
- Machine runnability increases due to shorter drying periods.
- Enzymes partially eliminate fine fibrils and colloidal materials, contained in the white water loop due to longer contact time with the residual
enzyme activities. Produces cleaner recycled water, with optimum fine and fibrils content. Enzymes partially hydrolyze cellulose debris to low molecular weight saccharides that are easily biodegraded in WWT system.
SAFETY AND HANDLING
- Hand Protection: Neoprene gloves, Nitrile gloves, Butyl gloves, PVC gloves.
- Skin Protection: Wear standard protective clothing.
- Eye protection: Wear chemical splash goggles.
- Maxzyme-RE should be stored at ambient temperature. Moisture must be strictly excluded.
