Maxzyme-BL Bleaching Enzyme
PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
Maxzyme-BL Xylanase based enzyme for bio bleaching in Pulp and Paper i.e. Enzymatic Bleaching.
Bio-bleaching using Maxzyme-BL is an eco-friendly approach that enhances the pulp bleaching process while significantly reducing the environmental footprint and chemical costs associated with traditional methods. Bio-bleaching involves treating pulp with xylanase enzymes like Maxzyme-BL before chemical bleaching. This enzyme pretreatment breaks down xylan, a barrier in the pulp that traps lignin and hinders bleaching agent penetration. By opening up the pulp structure, Maxzyme-BL enables lower chemical usage while achieving higher brightness levels.
In addition to reducing the consumption of chlorine-based bleaching chemicals, bio-bleaching with Maxzyme-BL also decreases the production of harmful byproducts, such as adsorbable organic halides (AOX), resulting in cleaner effluents. The process not only meets regulatory demands for reduced pollution but also enhances the quality of the bleached pulp, providing a brighter, more uniform product. Bio-bleaching is a cost-effective and sustainable solution that aligns with the industry’s shift toward environmentally responsible papermaking.
GENERAL PROPERTIES
Maxzyme-BL operates effectively within a pH range of 6 to 9, making it compatible with most existing pulping and bleaching processes. The recommended dosage for Maxzyme-BL is between 0.25 to 0.30 kg per ton of pulp, with adjustments based on process temperature, pH, and retention time, as well as the composition of the pulp furnish. Maxzyme-BL is designed for easy integration into the production line and can be automatically dosed via a dosing pump for optimal and consistent application.
BENEFITS
- Increases brightness of the final bleached pulp by 1.5 to 2.0 units, enhancing product quality.
- Reduces chemical consumption by 15-20%, lowering costs and minimizing environmental impact.
- Lowers pollution load, specifically reducing AOX levels in effluents, contributing to cleaner wastewater.
- Allows for reduced chlorine dioxide usage, which can increase throughput in mills limited by chlorine dioxide generation capacity.
- Enhances machine runnability, reducing energy required for drying and enabling higher machine speeds.
- Improves pulp bleachability by breaking down xylan, allowing better penetration of bleaching agents for more efficient lignin removal.
- Produces effluent with reduced toxic compounds, facilitating compliance with regulatory standards for environmental impact.
